Educational Advocacy & Consulting

I am Darci Carter, SSP, Educational Advocate and Consultant with Marvelous Minds. With over 20+ years of experience working in schools and advocating for children’s rights, I am here to provide support, guidance and education to families with children with disabilities in North and South Carolina.

My focus is on working together with the school to collaborate and ensure an ongoing positive relationship. I assist families with the Special Education and 504 processes, including review of school records and formals assessments, provide feedback and opinions on current or future IEP or 504 plans, and attend school meetings to ensure your child’s needs are fully considered.

Additionally, I provide feedback and insight regarding behavior intervention plans, conduct observations, and overall advocacy for children’s educational rights. I serve as a liaison between outside clinicians and professionals and the schools. Due to my school psychology background, I am able to review results from educational assessments and make recommendations/suggestions for school implementation.

In addition, I assist families in seeking out various school settings/opportunities in our community that match their child’s educational, behavioral and social/emotional needs.
